Gustav Horn

: Gustav Horn

Gustav Horn studied Economics at the University of Bonn and at the London School of Economics. He received his PhD at TU Berlin in 1992 and worked at DIW Berlin from 1986 to 2004. In 2005 he became Director of the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) at the Hans-Boeckler-Foundation. Therefore he is a permanent adviser to the German trade unions. In 2007 he was appointed (external) Professor at the University of Flensburg. In 2012 he additionally became (external) Professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is a member of various political committees and advisor to the German Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), the European Parliament and the Green Party in the German Bundestag. Furthermore he is chairman of Committee on Social Order to the Protestant Church in Germany.
